• For incredible strength and durability Cervelo optimizes the R3's carbon by adding special carbon stiffening plies to the sides of the down, head and top tubes, as well as extra layers to the bottom of these tubes. Kevlar is also used throughout the frame for even more strength.
• The R3 features some of the most amazing seatstays on any bike. They are a true testament to the design skills of Cervelo's engineers. Because of Cervelo's Squoval chainstays, the seatstays only need to provide torsional stiffness. So, the seatstays act as leaf springs in the vertical plane for the ultimate combination of strength, comfort, stiffness and lightness.
